ZN500131 Walbro diaphragm adjustment tool, 1 pc.
Original Walbro Carburetor Diaphragm adjustment tool
This is an indispensable tool for optimally adjusting your carburetor. The position of the diaphragm lever, together with the diaphragm/menbrane, ensures an exact amount of fuel to the engine. This is related to the pressure difference of the under and over pressure from the crankcase, with each stroke the engine makes, the pump opens and closes once, and it is therefore a must that it is properly adjusted.
The rubber diaphragm ZN0066, and of set TPS0706, should be replaced regularly because the 5 and 10% methanol addition in today's fuels affects the resilience, and thus the fuel supply to the engine. As a result, the position of the lever under the diaphragm/menbrane can also change. You can also choose for the new Walbro membrane set TPS0708, which is resistant to methanol and therefore does not need to be replaced.
Fine tune:
- Remove the four screws on the side of the pump and remove the pump complete with diaphragm and gasket. Place the gauge on the carburetor as shown on photo 1. The diaphragm lever should just touch the tip of the tool.
The lever does not touch the tool:
- Then you can bend the lever slightly upwards with a small screwdriver until the lever just touches the tip of the tool, see photo 2.
The lever moves when you use the tool:
- You have to carefully hold the back of the lever with a pin or screwdriver, and then you can bend the lever slightly with a small screwdriver until the lever just touches the tool again, see photo 3.
