TPS Racing was born out of a pure passion for the RC car hobby. It all began in 1990 with a fascination for radio-controlled cars, which quickly grew into a serious business. During a race, I met Franz Gröschl, the founder of FG Modellsport, who was then developing his very first gasoline-powered 1/6 Off-Road Buggy – the now legendary FG Marder. FG Modellsport had just been established, with a small warehouse in Urbach, near Stuttgart, Germany.

My enthusiasm, technical knowledge, and driving skills impressed me, and Franz asked me to become a factory driver and simultaneously support the Dutch FG drivers with knowledge and service. That was the start of something big: the birth of TPS Racing.

We started small, in a basement in Nijmegen that I had converted into a technical center for FG Modellsport. At that time, parts were difficult to obtain, and most shops saw little point in a gasoline-powered car. That's why I decided to buy parts myself and help everyone keep their car running. A passion for technology, speed, and service was at the heart of what would become TPS Racing from the very beginning.

In 1996, we moved to Zevenaar and launched our first online store, The Pitstop Shop. From that moment on, we grew rapidly. We attended countless national and international races and developed our own tuning parts. The team won the Dutch championship three years in a row (2001, 2002, and 2003), and in 2003, we became world champions in Los Angeles with a custom-designed EVO3 chassis and our own Falcon3 23 cc tuned engine. This chassis was later even put into production, in a modified form, by FG ​​Modellsport.

In 2010, we moved again, this time to Westervoort, where TPS Racing continued to grow into one of the most comprehensive and reliable RC shops in Europe. Our webshop became trilingual and has since supplied parts, engines, and accessories for RC cars worldwide.
