Important Information for Our USA Customers

Ordering your favourite RC products from TPS Racing in the Netherlands and having them shipped to the United States? We want to make the process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Since August 2026, the import rules for shipments to the United States have changed. According to the information on which our shipping procedure is based, the previous USD 800 import-free threshold has been abolished and a 19% U.S. import tariff applies to RC products.

This means that import charges now have to be taken into account when we ship your order from TPS Racing to the USA.

We Arrange the Import Charges in Advance

To make international ordering easier for our American customers, TPS Racing ships parcels to the United States using PostNL's Postal Delivery Duties Paid (PDDP) service.

With this shipping method, the applicable U.S. import charges are calculated before your parcel is shipped.

TPS Racing therefore charges the applicable 19% import fee directly during checkout. PostNL then handles the customs declaration and advances the applicable import charges on behalf of TPS Racing. These costs are subsequently charged to TPS Racing.

This means that you can see the import fee when placing your order instead of unexpectedly being confronted with the same import duty when your parcel arrives in the United States.

What Do I Have to Pay When My Parcel Arrives?

For a normal PDDP shipment, the applicable import duties are intended to have already been handled in advance.

Why Does TPS Racing Do It This Way?

We believe international ordering should be as simple and transparent as possible.

By arranging the applicable import charges in advance, we want to prevent situations where your parcel arrives in the United States and you are unexpectedly asked to pay the same import duties before receiving your order.

You know the applicable import fee before completing your purchase, while TPS Racing and PostNL take care of the customs process associated with the shipment.

Are Additional Charges Still Possible?

In exceptional circumstances, additional charges may still occur. This could happen, for example, because of an incorrect or changed customs classification, the country of origin of a product, special U.S. tariff measures or a reassessment by U.S. Customs.

For that reason, we cannot guarantee that customs authorities will never impose an additional charge.

For a normal PDDP shipment, however, the intention is clear: the applicable import duties are handled and paid in advance so that the same import duty should normally not be charged again upon delivery.
