Fuel tank ventilation TPS0710/10
With standard fuel tanks the ventilation is often incorporated in a valve in the cap, and this often causes problems. The rubber parts can be affected by the Ethanol of the E5 and E10 fuels. This can cause the rubber valve to stick or remain open.
When sticking, under- or overpressure is created in the tank, with causes the engine runs irregularly and does not picks up properly. The ball in the vent allows air to go in and out very easily. When the ball comes in contact with fuel, for example due to a rollover, it is immediately closes the vent.
Mounting:
- Close the existing cap vent with a small self-tapping screw
- Drill a 9.0 mm hole on the top part of the tank
- Deburr the inner edge with a sharp hobby knife
- Push the whole thing into the opening
Dimensions:
- Outside diameter clamping part: Ø9.5 mm
- Total height: H40-44 mm
